Part of my Sunday ritual is “Meet The Press.” Lately, the last half of their show has been devoted to debates. Yesterday’s was a Colorado Senate debate between Republican Ken Buck and Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet. So I was like, “This has nothing to directly do with me…I’m turning it off.”
I was wrong.
(SIDE NOTE: Holy Buck! Is he on Brokeback Mountain in this pic?!)
Ken Buck is known for saying some seriously salacious stuff. He once characterized an alleged write as “buyer’s remorse.” But yesterday, he was asked what he thought about gays. And then those two famous words entered the room: “Lifestyle choice.” But Buck took that and ran with it…all the way to comparing it to an addictive disease.
“The Weld County district attorney, who is opposed to repealing the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy, equated homosexuality to a lifestyle choice. ‘You can choose who your partner is. I think birth has an influence over it, like alcoholism and some other things, but I think that basically you have a choice,’ Buck said.”
I can’t make this shiz up! You can watch it, here:
What’s so sad is that people will actually vote for this person.
